Maintaining a healthy weight is critical to ensuring your overall health and well-being. Diet and exercise are powerful tools for weight management, but they aren’t the only factors. We used compounded weight loss medications that meet you where you are.
In the last 30 years, the prevalence of obesity in the United States has risen significantly, with 60% of adults currently being obese or overweight. Obesity is a severe health risk that can lead to the development of various medical conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases.
Several factors have contributed to this challenge, such as increased consumption of energy-dense foods high in fat and sugar and decreased physical activity due to sedentary lifestyles and urbanization. Genetics and external factors also play a role in obesity.
To manage weight, there are several strategies available, including dietary modifications, physical activity, surgery, weight management programs, and weight loss medication. Dietary modifications involve reducing the consumption of processed, ready-made, and refined foods with high fat and sugar content while increasing the intake of nutritious, high-fiber foods to aid weight loss. Physical activity is also crucial, with the CDC recommending at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity and 75 minutes of intense aerobic activity per week to maintain a healthy weight.
Bariatric surgery can benefit individuals with severe obesity or serious medical issues such as diabetes by changing the digestive system, such as making the stomach smaller. Weight management programs provide customized plans for weight management, including specific diet changes, physical activity, and habit management. Doctors can prescribe weight loss medication alongside lifestyle change recommendations, including compounded weight loss medications that are more personalized to the individual’s needs.
However, people often face various roadblocks during their weight management journey, such as physical hindrances like fatigue, discomfort, and underlying medical conditions, and environmental barriers like lack of time, limited access to healthy food, or poor social support. It is crucial to remember that every person is unique, and each weight management journey is different. Therefore, it is essential to seek support from healthcare professionals to develop personalized weight management plans that meet individual needs.
